istilah kasturi merujuk kepada kandungan yang terdapat dalam bintil kelenjar kijang jantan (gland or pod) .Kasturi kebanyakannya diperolehi daripada kijang yang terdapat di pergunungan Himalaya,di Wilayah Tonkin di China,Assam di India,Nepal dan Rusia.
